After nearly a decade running restaurant programs in San Francisco, our Director Sommelier came to Singapore with an eye to help continue to boost the profile of this ever-expanding beverage industry. Exciting times these are, despite the ongoing pandemic. Singapore’s mature palate is one which helps create the beginnings of what could be the new powerhouse for restaurants, wine, spirits, cocktails and service. 

With the experience of running high-end restaurants in San Francisco, our Director Sommelier created wine and spirits lists in the hundreds. At his last restaurant, he was recognised by Wine Spectator for having one of the top programs in the city, winning one of the magazine’s restaurant awards. He is a certified sommelier as well as a member of the Port Brotherhood (Confraria do Vinho do Porto) and a member of the Sommelier Association of Singapore. 

In 2018, he had the honour of being beverage director for the annual James Beard Foundation dinner in New York City. The beverage menu consisted of three opening cocktails and then 8 wine pairings for the event that highlighted the magnificent efforts made by his restaurant, ROOH, in modern Indian cuisine.
